Able Anglers was formed in 2016, originally under the title of Moreton Bay Able Anglers.
Moreton Bay Able Anglers was setup for the sole intention of building and facilitating a social inclusion group around fishing. It was these sessions and groups where friendships were formed and bonding transpose.
Moreton Bay Able Anglers was formed prior to the inception of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), since the introduction of the NDIS, our participant numbers have increased.
As the number of registered participants increased, so to did our coverage area. It was becoming evident, our services were in high demand, at the time, being the original and only social inclusion fishing group that existed in south-east Queensland that was specifically designed for people living with a Disability or Mental Illness.
In 2021, it was decided that we would remove the beginning of our company name and retain simply Able Anglers Pty Ltd. This is the name known today.
Our motto "Reel Opportunities For Real People", as it says, we are focused on providing unique opportunities to enable our participants to experience some of life's most amazing activities and adventures. While Able Anglers is a company, our goal is not financially motivated, we are 100% participant driven.
To assist in promoting, supporting and advocating for Mental Health issues, Able Anglers are proud members of the Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association.
