Our Event Details
Moreton Bay Able Anglers provides fishing tuition, groups and services for people living with a Disability or Mental Illness, we have been doing this since 2016.
Recreational Fishing is so much fun, relaxing and enjoyable. Fishing is enjoyed by thousands of people, it is a great way to meet friends and likeminded individuals. Our fishing sessions are all about inclusion and non-biased and are a non-judgemental safe activity to participate in.
Each session is operated by an experienced and licensed boat operator.
What Does The Fishing Session Include?
Each session includes access to exclusive tuition and local knowledge.
- 3 Hours of boating time on the beautiful pumicestone passage at Bribie Island
- Fishing rod usage
- Fishing tackle
- Bait supply and rigging
- Sausage Sizzle on board the boat
What Do I Need To Bring?
- Warm clothes incase the weather changes
- Hat, Sunglasses, Sunscreen
- If you own your own rod, you are welcome to bring this
- Smiles, we all love smiles when fishing
- Drinking water and/or medication if required
How Long Does The Session Run For?
Each session operates for up to 4 hours. We have found that the duration of 3 hours is a good time frame for most participants.
Is This Session Wheelchair Friendly?
All of our bbq boat sessions are wheelchair friendly.
What Is The Actual Address Where The Session Is Held?
Each group session location is provided as a suburb, once the bookings are confirmed, the registered participants and carers/guardians are advised the actual address with map links etc via email, this is to ensure that the actual location not only stays safe, it ensures the safety of the participants.
Can I Cancel My Booking?
You can definitely cancel your booking with Moreton Bay Able Anglers, we ask simply for more than 48 hours notice so we can fill the reservation. If you cancel your session within 48 hours, you maybe invoiced for your place in the session.
How Does Payment Work?
When you book your session, we are for a couple of NDIS details;
- First & Last Name
- NDIS Registration Number
- Emergency Contact Number (in case of emergency)
- Plan Manager Company, Email Address and Contact Name
Once we have this information, we then send an invoice to the NDIS Plan Manager for payment from your NDIS allocated funds which generally comes from Social & Community funding areas.
