Spina Bifida Cannot Stop Me!

Spina Bifida cannot stop me

Spina bifida is a birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal cord don’t form properly. It’s a type of neural tube defect. The neural tube is the structure in a developing embryo that eventually becomes the baby’s brain, spinal cord and the tissues that enclose them.

Jade Taylor, one of Able Anglers regular participants provided us with a blog post about how she lives with Spina Bifida and attends Able Anglers sessions regularly.

“Of course, I have pain and struggles, especially when some people around me are treating me with pity instead of taking the time to know me and value my abilities.

At times I wish I could wear whatever shoes I like and walk without an aid, but I have learned to be content with the fact that I am able to WALK some days and other days I can’t move my legs at all and to show people that giving up isn’t helpful, “being unique is better than being perfect”. Able Anglers is a great service that has made me feel comfortable both in group activities. They are willing to work with anybody to help you complete your NDIS goal which Steve and his team have done for me. You couldn’t ask for a better service provider than Able Anglers. They go above and beyond their ‘Job’ and are very willing to work with many disabilities.
