Our Event Details

Able Anglers are running a group outing to the amazing, Fort Lytton.

Fort Lytton is Queensland’s foremost military exhibit, with extensive historic fortifications, Queensland’s largest military museum.

Built in 1881 and used for the defence of Brisbane until the end of the Second World War, it is a pentagonal fortress concealed behind grassy embankments.

Fort Lytton defended Brisbane continuously from colonial times until after WW2.

The historic fort consists of about a hectare of colonial buildings, tunnels and other fortified structures embedded in a protective earth-mound wall and surrounded by a 10m-wide water-filled moat.

In addition, numerous other fortifications, museum buildings and outdoor exhibits occupy the 13 hectare site.

Total Group Activity cost is $150 per participant.  There are no additional charges for an accompanying support worker to attend or participate.  This includes a free Sausage Sizzle lunch and a custom Guided Tour for our group.
